Look out Tuesday...

Here I come! I have my list and I hope to tackle a few things tomorrow.

Best of luck to me!

Amazing...

I signed in the other evening to make a new post (finally). However due to the computer/iTouch, I was not able to write any text. Instead I quickly glanced at the last few entries. Once again I am reminded that I really should write things down and refer back to them. It was in April that I wrote about there not being enough time. Yet here I am in September wishing for more time. Some how all this time went by and I am still at the same point. It is time to start moving forward with new goals in mind.

Look out world, I am going to grab the pen and tackle a new goal or two!

Life Lesson

When purchasing food at a bake sale where children will be near/passing the table, choose food from the back of the table. Short kids cannot reach that far.

Time

Time is elusive. I have been thinking that there will always be more time later to organize my photos, write friends, go for a walk, (fill in the blank). However I am finding that I think there will be more time tomorrow or next week or after I meet the next deadline, but it never materializes. So in those few brief moments that I can think about it, I will have to find a new approach to accomplishing things on my want to do list. Perhaps it all comes down to doing things that are good enough and then moving on.

Luck

I am so lucky! If only I could stand on the roof and shout it out to the world. If only I could bottle up the pure happiness I have right now to save and sip for a more challenging time, but for now I shall smile to myself and take a deep, relaxing breath in.

Life is good! I am lucky!

Who Knew?

Since my days and nights are in reverse right now I thought nothing about sending an email to work IT helpdesk in response to an earlier email I received in the day. A few hours later I thought about sending out another email to someone else and noticed I received an email directly from someone working in the IT department. He wanted to know if this can be taken care of during business hours and that I should not be sending the messages directly to his email. Since sending a reply now would only further upset this person it will have to wait. Who knew an email sent to the IT helpdesk would elicit a response from someone in the department 24/7? I will have to make it a point to send my apologies to him tomorrow. While I would like to write up the email now for me to send later, I am afraid I will accidentally send it out tonight.

I guess from now on, only send work emails to people during business hours. You never know if they are carrying a blackberry and will be buzzed about the email immediately.

The Good Ol' Days

I really do miss the days of loving my job. Working on the weekends is no fun, especially since I was not planning on working. I guess this too shall pass. I can only hope to have another job that I truly enjoy. Until then, I need to trudge through the rat race and try to keep my head above water.

Just another Manic Monday...

I have spent the good part of this morning and part of last night feeling sorry for myself because no one really cares about how I am doing. They just want to ask politely how you are doing and they expect to hear the normal answers. Anything outside the normal is something they do not want to hear. But somewhere during the drive back from lunch and walking back to my desk I realized something. It isn’t that no one cares; it is just that the majority of my time is spent with coworkers and they are the ones that really do not care. Your family and really good friends do care about your well being. Unfortunately most people do not get to see them most days (unless of course you work with your family).

I guess that is my one small revelation for the day. Time to get back to the grind. Perhaps with this new insight I will let up on myself and enjoy the day for what it is.

My own worst enemy

Yes, your words should help motivate me to get to work and help me be a better person, but I am too busy beating myself up over my poor performance to really listen to the words. Yes, I am stuck in a rut and need to find a way to get out, but I rarely put myself first.

If only I would give myself the time to nurture myself.

Back to the grind...

Need look around a bit

Life is what you make of it. What more can I say? There have been a lot of thoughts going through my head of late, but I really just need to take a step back and be grateful. In the grand scheme of things, life is good. Yes, I am working a lot, but I am healthy, not deeply in debt, and overall things have been good. Sometimes I just need to take a deep look around to really appreciate the great life I have.

If I would only give myself more time...

I finally sat in front the computer for a couple of hours with the task of designing a web page. Granted, I had purchased the domain name in December, but was frustrated getting 1 page set up. Then I realized, I really was not giving myself the time to do the task. Instead I would sit down and get frustrated withing 30 minutes of using a completely new software with absolutely NO EXPERIENCE designing a web page. No wonder the experience was crazy-frustrating!

I hope I remember this experience - put the time into the things I want to be doing instead of wasting it doing things of little value to me personally.

Happy Sunday!

Photo of the Week

One resolution that I have not been following is to keep a camera with me everywhere I go. You never know when you might see some thing nice like this.

Enjoy!

Better Late than Never

I had grand plans for the new year, but life has a way of keeping me busy. Or perhaps I do not put the fun things first in my life. Either way, it is time to step it up and start focusing on things that are important to me.

One of those important things is health - so I shall close and get some sleep as I am starting the week out with a late night due to surfing. Since I have not had home access to the internet for over a week, I had to catch up on some of my favorite blogs, read the news and surf for a few new things. Plus I had hoped to order a few calendars and moving cards, but that took a back seat.

Happy Mid-February everyone!

What would make my day smoother?

I awoke this morning in a great mood after a good night's sleep and pleasant dreams. However as the day went on I was feeling more drained from my job. The amount of work will take longer than the time I can clock in for the week. I cannot work overtime, so I guess I need to only put in the hours that for the week and anything extra will have to wait.

While that will be great, I also think that I need to do something to get myself in a better mood to handle the stresses related to my job. What can I do to start my morning off on a better foot? I have not had the time to organize my to do list for the following day. Perhaps I need to get into work a little earlier to help me get a few things organized before the barrage of other to do's pop up.

Something to think about while I work on my homework.

Tossing out the old and unused

Wouldn't it be great and wonderful to part with all that is old and unused?

I struggle with tossing out things, clothes in particular, just in case I will need them. How many times have I decided to purge and then 2 months later wish I had kept that one item? Too many to count.

For what ever reason I am in the mood to declutter my life. Surprisingly I have made the big decision to not by holiday cards and pull together the odds and ends I have from the past few years to mail out to family and friends.

The same holds true for my birthday cards - next year will be the year to use up the stash of photo notecards I have tucked into nooks and free space. A few months ago I wanted to consolidate my stash of stationery and photo cards only to realize I had a lot more than I realized. Some had never been sent out. As much as I would love to purchase more cards and photo gifts, I decided to use up what I have and start a list of my absolutely favorite photos for use in future projects!

Cool!

Now, time for my homework....

Where did the month go?

It is hard to believe that October is gone. Plus I haven't written anything in almost 2 months. What have I been doing? Perhaps the warm sunny weather of October lulled me into a great feeling of being off the computer and out and about.

On the bright side, I did find a comfortable feeling - enjoying a lazy Sunday doing the things I wanted to do without feeling I was being pulled into anything. I miss those days- reading the Sunday paper, a little bit of laundry, a nice talk with my mom on the phone with us chatting about the little things in life and not about the troubles, aches or pains.

Ahh, so relaxing...

Hobbies and Happy moments

It is amazing how one phone call, with some good news on the other end, can really make me happy. I called on the off chance that I might get into a class that starts tomorrow. The class has been postponed two weeks which would give me time to mail in my check (the site is old school) and get into the class. To my happy surprise, there still is availability. So after hanging up I filled out the form, wrote the check and mailed it off before the postal carrier arrived today. So EXCITING!!!

Of course I have absolutely no idea if the area is safe, but I will not let that little detail deter me from my class. Having a hobby one loves is so important in life.

The class: Studio Portrait Lighting

5 weeks of learning and using equipment. I just have to show up with my camera and manual. Flash and light meter will be provided. I am excited about this class as I would like to start taking portraits on the side. Or it will help me learn how to light flowers and other table top items that I have in mind as a gift idea.

Happy Hobbying to all!
